[encode] or [decode] are invalid in an [object] interface The [ object ] attribute identifies a COM interface. The [ encode ] and [ decode ] attributes enable serialization. That is, you can provide and control buffers for data marshal and unmarshal, however, you cannot perform serialization on COM interfaces.
